Cirque Éloize Theatre

Synopsis

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Canadian contemporary circus crew Cirque Éloize (pronounced EL-WAZ) opens the doors to its new show Hotel, at Sadler’s Wells’ West End theatre.

In an art deco grand hotel, tourists and travellers, the famous and infamous, mingle across the centuries. Sneak behind closed doors to witness intimate stories, guided by a time-spinning groom and the artful maître d’hôtel.

Éloize showcases the company’s trademark blend of contemporary circus and drama in a place that never sleeps with 12 dazzling acrobats and musicians.

Cirque Éloize has become a world leader in contemporary circus since the company was founded in 1993 by artistic director, and Eloi’s cousin, Jeannot Painchaud. The company specialises in creating shows that fuse circus arts with music, theatre and dance.

The Experience

This exceptional theatre production is spellbinding. There are several mesmerizing segments, which leave the audience, in awe. It creatively demonstrates both acrobatic skill and theatre talent in a captivating custom.

It is also stimulating to watch a cast that collaborates collegiately as a team and it was a wonder to marvel at this beauty. It is a pleasure to watch three musicians, at any one point throughout the show keeping the music element eclectic.

The prodigious ‘trampowall’ finale was epic and star of the show. The energetic band of twelve simultaneously bounced between a trampoline and a wall. Exploding in and out of hidden doors and windows through ingenious parts of the stage. It is important to note, there are no safety nets used during the show, highlighting its very high calibre cast.

If you’re an avid theatre goer, this will definitely tick all the boxes and more. This eye-popping entertainment will have you talking about its glory to friends, family and colleagues.
