Laurent Perrier Masterclass

A sparkling symposium

It is fair to say, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne house is a fairly respected name in the world of beverages. It is obvious a strong ethos for continual excellence in the field must be a key contributor to its success. Hence, it is not a surprise that the brand was one of the few champagne houses who made the decision to switch to stainless steel tanks in the 1950’s. These tanks allowed greater flexibility for controlling low temperature fermentation and ensuring a high quality freshness.

Champagne Region

We love to appreciate where greatness originates and The Estate; Domaine Laurent-Perrier was anchored in Tours-sur-Marne. This scenic village is conveniently situated at the crossroads of the three main wine growing areas of the Marne; the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs.

The Collection

The Laurent Perrier collection is pretty extensive and includes;

  • Ultra Brut
  • La Cuvée
  • Brut Millésimé
  • Grand Siécle
  • Cuvée Rosé
  • Alezandra Rosé
  • Harmony

Taste of London and Cuvée Rosé

We have been attending The Taste of London Festival since inception and have witnessed the growth and glory year upon year. It never fails to deliver, whether the attendance is through hospitality, social or press. In our opinion, the Laurent Perrier Masterclass and clubhouse is the crowning jewel.

The 50thanniversary of the Cuvée Rosé was marked at the gourmet food festival. Paired with a pop-up organic food restaurant Roganic and eco-friendly farmer Indie Ecology.

We were thrilled to see both co-partners had pursued a step in the green direction, highlighting the importance of limiting food waste and playing part in the wider circle for the planet.

La Cuvée Rose Fun Facts

  • La Cuvée Rosé was created in 1968
  • Grape: Pinot Noir 100%
  • Ageing: 5 years minimum
  • Ideal for pairing; marinated raw fish, grilled prawns, exotic dishes, Parma ham and red fruit desserts

The experience

It all takes place in a tasting farmhouse, positioned next to the Lauren Perrier clubhouse (which is open all throughout the festival and fantastic stop to rest your feet). It was elegantly decorated by Indie Ecology, a creation of farmer Igor Vaintraub; a food waste farmer. It’s organic, hand grown produce was evident on all tables of the tasting room. It presented an earthy component yet a valid eye opener for the prospective change in the future of our shopping patterns.

The 30-minute tasting was accompanied with short presentations by the hosts and an open forum for further Q&A, at the end of the session.

The gleaming champagne flutes was paired with Preserved Raspberry Tartlet, Oyster cracker and finally Hispi cabbage and crab. All natural, organic ingredients were provided by Indie Ecology and created into mouth-watering morsels by Roganic.

We were pleased to see the Lauren Perrier team were close-knit and supportive towards the guests and created a very amiable ambience.

Champagne pairings

Score

9/10 Excellent

This Champagne tasting session is truly charming. The pairings were a wonderful welcome that you can put to the test immediately.

The rustic setting is eloquently designed and the customary champagne is as crisp as ice.

We would highly recommend it.
